Senior Design Engineer

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of innovative electronic products. This role blends electrical design, embedded software development, and test system support. Ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and have the potential to move into leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, test, and troubleshoot analog and digital circuits
- Develop schematics and oversee PCB layout (directly or through external resources)
- Select and qualify electronic components for new and existing products
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specs and product manuals
- Develop and support factory test equipment (hardware, firmware, and software)
- Manage engineering projects—both new product development and sustaining improvements
- Collaborate with internal departments and external customers on project requirements
- Occasionally travel to the Northern MN facility to support development and manufacturing needs
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement across design and production
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware and software/firmware development
- Strong background in analog/digital circuit design, schematic capture, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in C/C++, Visual Studio, Visual Basic .NET, and C#
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Oracle, and SQL
- Ability to lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with regulatory testing requirements (FCC, CE, IC)
- Experience with end-to-end project management in a product development environment
Nice to Have:
- Embedded systems experience
- Linux development or USB hardware design
- Driver development and code signing
- Experience with Microchip CryptoAuthentication
- Technical writing skills (white papers, documentation)
- Interest or experience in technical leadership or mentoring
