    The Opportunity

    This highly visible and strategically critical role sits within the Enterprise Marketing organization and serves as a Chief of Staff supporting the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Adobe’s Enterprise business. Operating as an extension of the CMO, you will drive clarity, alignment, and operational excellence across the global marketing ecosystem-spanning the CMO’s leadership team, corporate marketing (GMO), Field Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success & Services teams, Finance, Procurement and Executive Communications.

    As Senior Director, you will shape and orchestrate the executive business rhythm, ensuring that the CMO’s priorities translate into clear, coordinated execution across senior leaders and cross-functional partners. You will be responsible for aligning strategy, driving key transformation initiatives, and elevating leadership performance and communication across a complex, rapidly evolving environment.

    This role requires a senior-level operator who excels in both strategic foresight and executional rigor , has exceptional executive communication skills, and possesses the confidence, judgment, and cross-functional influence to partner directly with senior VPs, global leaders, and extended CMO staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical, relationship-oriented leader who can simplify complexity, anticipate needs, and drive impact at scale.

    Core Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Executive Alignment

    • Lead the CMO-level operating rhythm across functional and global teams, ensuring alignment of annual, quarterly, and monthly priorities across senior leadership.
    • Synthesize complex strategic inputs across product, regional, and go-to-market teams to advise the CMO, recommend decisions, and prepare leadership for critical business reviews.
    • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CMO-driving clarity, identifying risks, surfacing strategic insights, and ensuring teams remain focused on the highest-impact initiatives.

    Enterprise Marketing Planning & Performance

    • Drive the Enterprise Marketing quarterly and fiscal year planning operating models in partnership with Enterprise Marketing leadership teams, Field Sales, Product, and cross-functional groups (GMO, ATS, Finance, HR).
    • Oversee planning & prioritization cadences-including QBRs, MBRs, annual planning, budget cycles, and strategic offsites.
    • Own performance rhythms (weekly/monthly/quarterly) including business inspection, KPI alignment, performance tracking, and insights generation for senior leadership.
    • Partner with Finance to lead spend forecasting, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure transparency into marketing investment ROI.

    Executive Communications & Leadership Visibility

    • Build and operate a comprehensive, CMO-level communications framework-including org-wide all-hands, leadership communications, operational updates in partnership with marketing leadership business ops functions and executive comms teams.
    • Create executive-ready presentations, CEC content, board-level materials, and cross-functional communications that influence and align senior audiences.

    Cross-Functional Orchestration & Strategic Programs

    • Partner with GMO business ops and strategy teams to drive priority alignment and program collaboration.
    • Partner with Digital Experience PMO and business managers across regions to ensure global-to-regional alignment and adoption of operating models.
    • Identify operational gaps across teams, functions, and segments; develop solutions to increase efficiency, scalability, and cross-team connection.

    Leadership Operations & Organizational Excellence

    • Manage end-to-end leadership operations including strategic offsites, talent planning, promotions cycles, recognition programs, morale/engagement efforts, and VP/Sr. Director development.
    • Guide senior leaders through continuous cycles of improvement-simplifying workflows, improving cross-functional understanding, and reinforcing organizational priorities.
    • Ensure leaders have the systems, insights, and communication structures needed to operate at peak performance.

    Skills & Experience

    Leadership & Executive Influence

    • Demonstrated success operating at the VP/SVP/CMO executive tier , with the confidence and judgment required to advise, influence, and challenge senior leaders.
    • Exceptional leadership, relationship management, and stakeholder alignment skills across complex, matrixed global organizations.
    • Proven ability to lead through influence-driving consensus, motivating cross-functional teams, and balancing diverse stakeholder needs.

    Strategic & Operational Excellence

    • Minimum 12-15+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Business Operations, Strategy, Communications, Chief of Staff roles, or similar functions.
    • Demonstrated ability to move seamlessly between long-range strategic planning and hands-on execution while maintaining executive-level quality.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing budgets, forecasting, performance reporting, and operational KPIs.

    Executive Communication & Storytelling

    • Outstanding written and verbal executive communication skills, capable of distilling complexity into clear, compelling narratives for senior audiences.
    • Proven ability to build high-quality, executive-level materials (presentations, briefings, business reviews) with meticulous attention to detail.

    Business Judgment & Agility

    • Ability to operate with a high degree of judgment, confidentiality, and autonomy in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
    • Strong ability to triage, prioritize, make decisions, and keep stakeholders aligned while removing roadblocks for senior leadership.

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $177,300 -- $377,400 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.     In California, the pay range for this position is $242,700 - $377,400 │ In Washington, the pay range for this position is $227,400 - $353,550

    At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

    In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
