Leading New York City Health System seeks a Senior Director of Nursing for Women and Children’s Health for their hospital located in Brooklyn.
Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for all facets of nursing practice and performance within the Department of Women and Children’s Services.
- Designs, implements, and evaluates programs for multiple nursing units or departments. Provides executive leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory standards, service standards and policies at the organizational, local, state, and federal
- Collaborates with the interprofessional team, leading the nursing division to ensure excellence in quality, patient experience, and efficiency.
- Oversees the development and implementation of interdisciplinary outcome standards. Leads interdisciplinary quality and performance improvement projects pertinent to departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
- Fosters positive and productive work and care environments, founded in the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion to attract and retain staff. Demonstrates a steadfast commitment to engaging and meaningfully recognizing staff.
- Conducts interviews, hires, develops, and evaluates departmental leadership from orientation through termination, if necessary, according to established standards.
- Evaluates the performance of personnel in a fair and transparent manner.
- Establish a financial plan and utilize data to make strategic decisions. Design the operational and capital
- budgets for the service line(s) (salary and non-salary where applicable), in conjunction with the clinical
- leaders; monitors expenses as balanced with patient volume and other indicators; and evaluates outcomes, making modifications and adjustments as indicated.
- Coordinates and facilitates activities to promote service and interdisciplinary teamwork. Role models
- service standards in actions and communications with patients, families, staff and other disciplines.
- Functions as a respectful leader of the health care team.
- Develop, approve and implement nursing and organizational policy, incorporating the precepts of shared governance
- Drives staff involvement in nursing research and evidence-based practice efforts.
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- Doctoral degree in clinical nursing practice or research required
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within Women’s and Children’s Health or Maternal Chile Health
Salary: $225,000 - $250,000
