Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development and implementation of high-performance electrical systems for off-site fabricated building projects within the healthcare industry. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be integral to a multidisciplinary team that is transforming how buildings are designed, built, and delivered through innovative design-for-manufacture and construction (DMC) methodologies.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, analysis, and detailing of electrical systems for diverse facility types, ensuring compliance with client requirements and applicable codes.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and translate them into efficient, scalable system designs.
Deliver optimized electrical system solutions tailored for offsite fabrication, including selective coordination, arc flash hazard analysis, illumination, and energy performance assessments.
Evaluate the technical feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed electrical designs and systems.
Provide technical review and oversight of drawings, specifications, and models created by junior engineers and modelers, ensuring accuracy and code compliance.
Support design modeling activities and ensure alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
Partner with manufacturing and construction teams to streamline production and installation processes for efficiency and quality.
Assist project leadership in coordinating multi-phase design efforts and mentoring junior staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
8+ years of professional experience in building electrical system design
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 99, and other applicable regulations
Experience designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, CADMEP, and familiarity with VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) workflows
Hands-on experience with electrical analysis software, such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM
Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff
Understanding of renewable energy systems, particularly solar PV
