    Seksun Texas Inc. is part of a global manufacturing company producing critical components for the electric vehicle (EV) industry and serving the automotive, medical device, and consumer electronics sectors . Our Dallas-area facility in Irving, TX is a fully automated assembly plant specializing in assembling current collector parts and busbar charge port components for EVs . We utilize advanced processes such as precision ultrasonic welding, soldering, and automated glue dispensing to ensure high-quality, efficient manufacturing of these critical components.

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a hands-on Senior Engineer to lead and support our automated assembly lines at the Dallas facility. In this role, you will oversee the technical operations of production lines involving ultrasonic welding, soldering, and glue dispensing processes. You will be responsible for establishing and executing preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and sustaining efficient line operations. This position requires strong leadership and bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, as you will coordinate with both local teams and international (China-based) engineering staff to ensure smooth production and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, on-site role in Dallas, TX, offering an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing EV manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities • Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan for all automated assembly line equipment (e.g., ultrasonic welders, soldering machines, glue dispensers, robotic systems) to maximize uptime and equipment reliability. • Troubleshooting & Repair: Lead hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control systems on the assembly lines. Quickly diagnose equipment malfunctions (including debugging PLCs/robotics) and coordinate prompt corrective actions to minimize production downtime. • Production Efficiency: Monitor and analyze assembly line performance metrics (cycle time, yield, OEE, etc.) to ensure optimal efficiency. Identify bottlenecks or process issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, lean manufacturing) that enhance throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness. • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance technicians. Provide hands-on guidance and training, assign daily tasks, and lead by example on the factory floor to foster a proactive, high-performance maintenance culture. • Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Engineering) to optimize line layout and process flow for better productivity . • New Product Introduction: Support new product launches and engineering changes by ensuring equipment readiness, conducting process validations, and smoothing the integration of new products into existing assembly lines. • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with OSHA workplace safety regulations and relevant industry standards. Uphold adherence to product and quality standards (e.g., UL certification requirements, ISO 9001/IATF 16949) , and promote a culture of safety and quality on the production floor. • Equipment Installation: Oversee the installation and commissioning of new or upgraded automation equipment on the production lines, working closely with equipment vendors and global engineering teams to integrate best practices and improvements. • Documentation & SOPs: Maintain detailed maintenance logs and technical documentation. Establish and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation, setup, and maintenance to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer. • Spare Parts Management: Manage the spare parts and consumables inventory for the assembly lines. Coordinate with procurement to ensure critical spare parts are in stock and readily available to support preventive maintenance and rapid repairs.

    Required Qualifications & Skills • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field). • Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment maintenance, or industrial automation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role. Proven track record in a high-volume production environment (automotive or electronics manufacturing preferred). • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with automated assembly line equipment and processes. Proficiency with systems such as ultrasonic welding machines, soldering stations, adhesive/glue dispensing equipment, and robotic or PLC-controlled machinery. • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Strong capability in developing and executing preventive maintenance schedules. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills in both mechanical and electrical domains, with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery under time constraints. • Bilingual Communication: Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (written and spoken). Able to effectively communicate technical information in both languages, facilitating clear collaboration with Mandarin-speaking teams and English-speaking staff. • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a technical team. Hands-on leadership style with willingness to be present on the production floor, troubleshooting alongside technicians and ensuring best practices are followed. • Quality & Safety Focus: Working knowledge of quality management systems and safety protocols. Familiar with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and committed to maintaining OSHA-compliant safe work practices. • Analytical & Organizational Skills: Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills to interpret production and maintenance data. Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects, schedules, and priorities effectively.

    Preferred Qualifications • Automotive OEM Background: Experience working at or with an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier, particularly in assembly line engineering or maintenance, is highly valued. • Advanced Technical Skills: Familiarity with PLC programming, robotics programming, or industrial control systems. Experience with related manufacturing processes (such as CNC machining, laser welding, or plastic molding) is a plus. • Continuous Improvement: Certification or formal training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. • Education: A Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field (or an MBA) is an advantage. • Language & Cultural: Native-level Mandarin proficiency or experience working in a Chinese business environment.
