About the Role
ATEK Metal Technologies is hiring a Senior Engineer to lead and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction in a dynamic aluminum casting environment. This is a high-impact leadership role that supports ATEK’s operational goals and serves as a stepping stone to the Engineering Manager role.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of engineering initiatives to improve product quality and efficiency
- Supervise and mentor Manufacturing, Process, and Automation Engineers
- Drive lean and data-driven continuous improvement projects
- Support product launches, cost reduction trials, and cross-functional collaboration
- Maintain engineering documentation including layouts, process flows, and instructions
- Stay informed of new technologies and implement relevant improvements
- Participate in weekly reviews with engineering leadership

Performance Milestones
- 30 Days: Understand ATEK's casting processes and team goals
- 90 Days: Launch coaching sessions with direct reports and initiate scrap reduction efforts
- 180 Days: Implement team skill development systems and lead cross-functional productivity improvements
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time completion of engineering projects
- Scrap rate reduction through process improvements
- Team development and performance tracking
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing
- At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Aluminum casting experience (required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and SPC tools
- Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMM and articulated arm scanners
- Knowledge of Minitab or similar statistical software
- Background in casting defect analysis
- Familiarity with IQMS ERP and SolidWorks CAD
- Six Sigma training or certification
Work Environment
- 50% office-based, 50% foundry exposure (dust, heat, noise, fumes)
- Fast-paced manufacturing with multiple projects
