Senior Environmental Scientist / Project Manager
Location: Brighton, MI
Our partner is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist / Project Manager to lead environmental investigation, remediation, and due diligence projects. This role is ideal for an experienced environmental professional with strong knowledge of Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 regulations and hands-on consulting experience.
What You’ll Do:
Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects from planning to completion
Lead Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs), and Due Care documentation
Prepare and review regulatory reports, including IARs, FARs, and Closure Reports
Coordinate field activities: drilling, sampling, surveying, and lab work
Oversee UST removals and remediation system operations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
Mentor junior staff and train in field activities and sampling techniques
Manage subcontractors, project budgets, schedules, and scopes
Communicate with clients, project managers, engineers, and regulators
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in geology, engineering, environmental science, or related field
Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting experience
Strong knowledge of Michigan Part 201 and Part 213 requirements
Experience with environmental investigations, sampling, and reporting
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Valid Michigan driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
Ability to perform field work in all seasons and lift up to 40 pounds
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Experience with AutoCAD, SPCC/SWPPP plans, BEAs, and Due Care documentation
Industrial Stormwater Operator or Asbestos Inspector certifications preferred
