    The Opportunity

    This is an individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in facility systems, working independently under general direction with the ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects. Plans, designs, and oversees multiple facilities-focused engineering projects, including the reconfiguration and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities systems. Particular emphasis on HVAC, electrical, and controls. Supports environmental sustainability initiatives and facility infrastructure engineering for the division to ensure sustainability goals are met and facilities operate as efficiently as possible, resulting in the reduction of energy (CO2), waste, and water. Prioritize tasks to ensure that the team and external resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met.


    Responsibilities:

    • Support clean rooms, HVAC, DI water, process gases, desiccant dryers, humidifiers, generators, compressors, chillers, etc.
    • Develop engineering calculations and assumptions for projects and provide engineering analysis.
    • Ensure that fundamental engineering methods/techniques and applicable codes have been properly applied to all project designs.
    • Gather and review data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
    • Deploy analytical and problem-solving skills/techniques to determine technical solutions related to the utility and
      sustainability issues.
    • Review and estimate design/project cost, including equipment, installation, labor, and materials.
    • Ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, standards, and schedules.
    • Support long-range sustainability plans for all Division facilities that meet or exceed the sustainability goals and objectives: includes all infrastructure related to electrical energy, natural gas, steam, delivered fuels, water, and waste.
    • Coordinate capital project execution: planning, budget, schedule, quality of workmanship, communication, and compliance with all local, state, Company, and federal code requirements.
    • Support measurement programs to track sustainability and financial metrics, and initiatives against goals.
    • Lead projects and teams related to implementing the sustainability plans developed: includes infrastructure
      improvements, upgrades, and new installations.
    • Evaluate and authorize changes that positively impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project.
    • Monitor progress and performance, and finances against the project plan.
    • Support the development of facility management policies and procedures.
    • Comply with applicable regulations, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
    • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, contractors, and vendors.
    • Partner with utility providers to determine the scope and feasibility of a project and achieve maximum utility company incentives, including electric, gas, water, and waste.
    • Coordinate/collaborate with the Company’s Global Environmental Health and Safety (GEHS) team on evolving corporate sustainability program requirements.
    • Serve as a contributing member to the Company’s Communities of Practice (CoP)


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or facilities or environmental degree.
    • Minimum of 8 years of Professional related experience in Facilities Engineering or Facilities Project Management
    • AutoCAD, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC controls experience is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in energy, water, and waste conservation initiatives and working with utility providers.
    • Project management experience with projects up to $500M
    • Working knowledge of ISO 14644, 14001, and 50001.
    • Financial experience related to determining ROI, NPV, simple payback, etc.
    • Must possess critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning skills.
    • Must use sound judgement and ability to build and maintain relationships with individuals and in teams, along with the ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
    • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
    • Possess interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences while optimizing overall organizational goals.
    • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, goal-driven, changing environment.
    • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
    • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
    • Strong verbal and written communications with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
    • Ability to travel, including internationally, with overnight stay (20%).

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PE license preferred
    • Certifications aligned with energy, waste, and water optimization (e.g., ASHRAE BEAP, AEE, CEM, LEED, etc.) are desirable.
    • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred. Clean room experience is a plus.
    • Advanced analytical expertise and experience in leveraging Excel, Power BI, and/or Tableau preferred
  • Compensation
    $115,000 per year
