Responsibilities: As a Senior Associate at our firm, you will serve as a lead advocate for families navigating their most pivotal moments. Your role blends high-level legal strategy with hands-on client care, ensuring every case is handled with the precision of a seasoned litigator and the heart of a community-focused advisor. 1. Strategic Case Management & LeadershipEnd-to-End Ownership: Manage a comprehensive caseload of Maryland family law matters, from the initial consultation through to final resolution. • Decision-Making: Analyze complex situations to develop sound legal strategies, prioritizing tasks and meeting all deadlines in a high-volume environment. • Team Collaboration: Oversee and collaborate with paralegals and support staff, ensuring efficient case movement and seamless communication with senior partners. 2. Litigation & AdvocacyCourtroom Presence: Confidently represent clients in all Maryland court appearances, hearings, and trials. • Negotiation & Mediation: Lead mediation sessions and negotiate with opposing counsel to reach amicable settlements, while remaining prepared for zealous litigation when necessary. • Asset Division: Handle complex financial aspects of divorce, including the division of marital assets. 3. Drafting & ResearchHigh-Level Documentation: Draft and review a wide range of pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, and prenuptial agreements. • Legal Analysis: Conduct thorough research to stay ahead of current Maryland statutes, regulations, and evolving case precedents. 4. Client Stewardship & ServiceEmpathetic Communication: Maintain consistent contact with clients, providing clear explanations of the legal process and managing expectations during emotionally charged times. • Firm Growth: Uphold our high standards of "Superior Service" and contribute to business development initiatives to help our firm continue to thrive. Qualifications: • Maryland Bar Membership: Active and in good standing. • Proven Courtroom Track Record: You must have familiarity in handling family law cases and be comfortable going to trial. • Regional Expertise: Deep familiarity with family court procedures across Anne Arundel, Baltimore County, and Prince George's County. • Subject Matter Expertise: 4+ years of firm experience specifically focused on Maryland family law issues Strategic & Analytical SkillsCase Strategy: Ability to research complex evidence—from financial records and home studies to expert reports—to develop strategies that favor quick, cost-effective resolutions over unnecessary litigation. • Litigation Mastery: First-chair trial experience with a strong knowledge base representing both plaintiffs and defendants. • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with legal research platforms and case management software, paired with a professional home office setup and high-speed internet to thrive in our hybrid model.
