This role is designed for a seasoned attorney who enjoys handling complex divorce and custody matters and is ready to play a key role in leadership, mentorship, and strategic case direction within a collaborative, team-first environment. Responsibilities: Draft high-quality pleadings and litigation materials • Prepare motions, affidavits, memoranda, and trial briefs that are clear, strategic, and persuasive. Prepare for and lead all stages of court proceedings • Handle hearings, motion practice, settlement conferences, and trials with confidence and attention to detail. Advocate effectively in the courtroom • Present witness testimony and evidence in a compelling and professional manner. Develop and drive case strategy • Lead strategic planning for complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, and spousal maintenance. Conduct legal research and analysis • Apply Minnesota statutes, case law, and procedural rules to strengthen arguments and guide case direction. Manage discovery and analyze evidence • Oversee discovery, review financial documentation, and synthesize key facts to support case strategy. Negotiate and resolve disputes • Work with opposing counsel and represent clients in settlement discussions and mediation with a solutions-focused approach. Provide direct client guidance • Maintain strong client relationships while delivering clear, strategic legal advice throughout the case. Draft substantive legal correspondence • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel through well-crafted written communication. Supervise and mentor support staff • Review and guide the work of paralegals and legal staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality output. Qualifications: • 10+ years of experience practicing family law in Minnesota • Active Minnesota Bar license in good standing • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy • High emotional intelligence and professionalism in client interactions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Strong organizational and calendar management skills • Comfortable using legal technology and case management systems • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team needs when necessary • Adaptable, solution-oriented, and able to shift priorities efficiently Compensation: $145,000+ yearly
