In this role, you'll manage a diverse and sophisticated caseload, handling everything from divorce proceedings to child custody disputes. Responsibilities: As a Senior Family Law Attorney at Divorce With A Plan, you will: • Work closely with clients to understand their goals, evaluate their cases, and develop customized legal strategies. • Manage all stages of divorce and family law matters, including property division, custody, and support issues. • Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, judgments, and related documents for a busy caseload. • Represent clients in contested hearings and trials, developing and executing strong litigation strategies. • Lead negotiations and mediations, proposing practical settlement options such as MSAs and consent orders. • Conduct and defend depositions; prepare clients, witnesses, and experts for testimony. • Collaborate with partners, associates, and paralegals to ensure cases move efficiently through litigation. • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and support staff; review work and provide constructive feedback. • Maintain accurate and compliant client records while managing expectations and communication. • Consistently deliver high-quality legal work and ensure a positive client experience. • Contribute to firm-wide best practices and help shape the future of family law in Maryland. Qualifications: • J.D. from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Maryland required. • Member in good standing with the American Bar Association. • Minimum of 5+ years of trial experience in family law , with a proven record of effective client representation. • Solid background in criminal justice or related legal fields is a plus. • Demonstrated ability to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases. • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress or emotionally sensitive matters. • Strong legal research, persuasive writing, and oral advocacy skills. • Collaborative team player with excellent leadership and mentoring abilities. • Must have 5+ years of trial family law experience. Compensation: $175,000 - $225,000 yearly
