Responsibilities: • Keep client files properly organized and up to date • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process • Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases • Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for various cases Qualifications: • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association) • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case • Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of MD (strong consideration for licensure in DC and VA) • Prior experience representing clients in hearings, trials, and mediation is required. • Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with management of support staff and interpersonal skills. • Great legal research skill is a must. • Must have 5+ years of relevant family law experience. • Strong consideration for candidates with the ability to speak Spanish fluently. Compensation: $170,000 - $225,000 DOE
