Our client is a national nonprofit focused on connecting communities to the benefits of the outdoors. A leader in promoting equitable access, the organization partners with communities to create parks and protect public lands where they are needed most.
As the organization continues to grow, they are looking for a Senior Financial Analystto support and strengthen their financial leadership. This role will play a key part in shaping the organization’s financial strategy and operations, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning while providing strategic guidance to leadership and ensuring long-term financial stability. The position works closely with executive and program teams to support data-driven decision-making, enhance organizational performance, and lead the finance team.
This role begins as a contract assignment with the intent to convert to a full-time role. Conversion is typically evaluated around Month 3.
Senior Financial Analyst Responsibilities:
Lead the development and management of annual budgets, multi-year financial plans, and cash flow projections
Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership and the board of directors
Oversee accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with regulations
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actionable strategies to improve efficiency and sustainability
Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members, promoting best practices and professional growth
Collaborate with program and operational teams to align financial resources with organizational priorities
Support audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors and financial partners
Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and reporting dashboards
Evaluate and implement systems and tools to streamline reporting, analysis, and workflow
Senior Financial Analyst Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or advanced degree preferred
At least 6+ years of progressive financial management experience, ideally in nonprofit, mission-driven, or complex multi-fund organizations
Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and collaborating across departments
Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic planning
Excellent analytical skills and proficiency with accounting and ERP systems
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to translate complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders

Compensation: $91,000–$101,000/yr.
