This role is ideal for a strategic underwriting expert with strong technical skills and market insight.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will oversee the evaluation, pricing, and negotiation of high-exposure healthcare risks. This position offers autonomy within delegated authority and involves both new business development and renewal underwriting. The role also includes mentoring junior staff and shaping underwriting strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and underwrite complex healthcare facility and hospital risks.
• Determine pricing, terms, and coverage based on risk analysis and profitability targets.
• Lead broker communications, market relationships, and account stewardship efforts.
• Track and analyze portfolio trends to inform business decisions.
• Ensure underwriting decisions are well-documented and align with internal guidelines.
• Collaborate on policy wording updates and product development initiatives.
• Coach and mentor junior underwriters, fostering team development and consistency.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience underwriting hospitals and healthcare facilities.
• Expertise in medical malpractice, general liability, D&O, and excess lines.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPCU or RPLU designation preferred.
