    PURPOSE STATEMENT

    The Senior Human Resource Generalist provides day to dayHR consultative services to Associates and Management as part of the Shared Services model. They will partner closely with the plant's steering committee in providing day to day HR support. This position will also partner with the Human Resource Business Partner on developing, implementing, and coordinating policies, procedures and programs for the following areas: associate/ labor relations, training and development, worker's compensation, recruitment, wage and salary administration, benefit plan administration, associate services, human resources planning, equal employment and affirmative action.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

    • Supports and/or assists in setting strategic objectives under the direction of the HRBP.

    • Supports all TPM Pillars and assists and/or leads the People Pillar responsibilities and projects.

    • Handles coordination of associate disciplinary actions for attendance.

    • Provides policy guidance for associates and leaders.

    • Contact for associate concerns, questions - supports associate in determining resolution.

    • HR point of contact for associate issues or concerns that may arise.

    • Supports and/or sets associate engagement strategies.

    • Supports community relations program with associates.

    • Ensures hourly associates are assessed per the location's formal process in partnership with the HRBP. Oversees administrative side of collecting assessments from Leaders.

    • Requisition Management and recruiting management - Band 0 & 1 positions.

    • Responsible for new hire orientation and new hire communication to leaders/departments.

    • Responsible for communication of new hires to leadership, departments and associates.

    • Manages temporary associate pool, including temporary to hire process.

    • Union plants - Assists leadership with the investigation and response for first step of the grievance process. May be responsible for tracking grievances.

    • Non-union plants - Assists with union avoidance strategies and activities

    • Maintain Job Descriptions for existing and new positions.

    • Conducts local wage surveys to keep abreast of local wages.

    • Supports the Moments that Matter.

    • Assists with ensuring headcount is correct for each department and aligned in AC.

    • Answers basic eTime and payroll questions, directing associates and leaders to ASC when necessary. Responsible for or assists with providing live payroll checks to associates. Responsible for manual check process.

    • Helps new leaders get trained in eTime use.

    • Administers local hourly attendance practices and notifies leaders when corrective actions are needed.

    • Updates and/or supports leaders in updating the HRIS system for associate pay changes, department, and position changes.

    • Answers basic benefits questions, directs associates for ASC assistance.

    • Manages associate leave of absence communication with leaders.

    • Serves as Wellness champion.

    • Assists during annual Open Enrollment process.

    • Ensures paper associate files are maintained and stored securely.

    • Responsible for local digital communication boards.

    • Submits invoices for associate related purchases and recruiting costs.

    • GEM (associate recognition program) Champion.

    • Facilitates exit interviews for Band 0 & 1 associates.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field required. Masters degree desirable.

    • Sound knowledge of all phases of Human Resources gained thru a minimum of 3 years of experience as a generalist in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

    • Coaching and consulting skills with demonstrated record of problem solving and diagnosis skills

    • Solid communication skills (verbal, written and listening)

    • Understanding of human resource processes and knowledge (i.e. Employment Law, Recruitment, Selection, and Retention, Associate Relations, compensation).

    • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence

    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

    • Ability to handle confidential information

    TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, OR WORK AIDS USED IN PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDING CHEMICALS IF ANY:

    • Able to use office equipment, computer, printer, keyboard and other office items.
