Sterling Technology Solutions, a growing MSP, is looking for a Senior IT Project Engineer. The Senior IT Project Engineer will serve as the technical resource responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex IT infrastructure and cloud projects for our clients. This role is hands-on and client-facing, requiring strong technical expertise, professionalism, and communication. This is an in-person role located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

What You’ll Do
Design and implement infrastructure, networking, and cloud solutions that align with client needs and security best practices
Participate in technical pre-sales discussions, reviewing project scopes and helping define implementation strategies, timelines, and hardware/software requirements
Execute complex IT projects including Microsoft 365, Azure, and SharePoint setups and migrations, server and network infrastructure deployments, and firewall and VPN implementations
Act as a technical lead in project kickoff and update meetings, providing status updates and coordinating with internal teams and client stakeholders
Collaborate with the operations coordinator to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
Deliver end-user training or technical documentation when needed
Maintain detailed project documentation within IT Glue and ConnectWise, including configurations, credentials, and network diagrams
Conduct thorough internal hand offs to service and support teams to ensure smooth post-project operations
Skills You’ll Need
10+ years of IT experience
Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience preferred
Strong expertise in
IT infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, and security best practices
Experience designing and implementing solutions in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments
Hands-on experience with server infrastructure, networking equipment, firewalls, and VPNs
Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions
Strong communication skills and comfort working in client-facing technical discussions
Azure certifications or other relevant cloud certifications preferred
