Senior Inspector
Plymouth | Direct Hire | $33–$38/hour
Konik is partnering with a high-quality, close-tolerance manufacturing company seeking an experienced Senior Inspector to support advanced inspection and quality assurance operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring precision components meet strict customer specifications and internal quality standards. Senior Inspector Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test manufactured and purchased components for compliance with customer and internal specifications.
- Program and set up CMM, Vision Measurement Systems, and Surface Profilers.
- Perform close-tolerance mechanical inspections in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Utilize small tool mechanical measurements, surface plate inspections, optical comparators, and statistical sampling techniques.
- Create First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation using Microsoft Excel.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and inspection specifications.
- Set up and operate precision measuring instruments.
- Communicate findings clearly to quality and production teams.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, documentation, and process control.
Senior Inspector Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of technical training including GD&T and shop math through trigonometry.
- 5+ years of mechanical inspection experience in a close-tolerance manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of setup experience with programmable inspection equipment (CMM, Surface Profiler, Vision Measurement Systems).
- Strong understanding of precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in GD&T interpretation.
- Experience generating First Article Inspection reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive, team-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement attitude.
