Senior Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Technical Writer
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior-Level IAMD Technical Writer to support the Surface Advanced Warfighting School by developing, updating, and improving tactical publications critical to Navy and Joint operations. This role requires technical expertise in IAMD, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTIs).
Key Responsibilities:
Review, update, and develop tactical documents such as TACMEMOs, TACBULs, TACNOTEs, TAMs, and FAMs.
Provide input and ensure alignment with Joint Publications (JPs), NWPs, NTTPs, and CONOPS/CONEMPs.
Manage publication projects, including Front-End Analysis, content creation, editing, and distribution.
Research and validate technical/tactical data for incorporation into publications.
Write and edit publications to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with classification guidelines.
Recommend effective presentation methods (e.g., figures, tables) to enhance content delivery.
Collaborate with SMEs, WTIs, and stakeholders to refine and finalize content.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Prior US Navy Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) or Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) qualified with extensive IAMD background or equivalent civilian experience.
Proficiency in technical writing, editing, and publication management.
Strong knowledge of Navy and Joint warfare tactics and doctrine.
Experience:
Extensive experience in integrated air and missile defense operations, tactics, and publications.
Background in technical writing or editing within a defense/military context is essential.
Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) designation preferred.
Security Requirements:
Must possess or be eligible for a TS/TS SCI security clearance.
Specific security requirements will be detailed in a DD254 provided at the task order level.
