Jefferson Street) – 50% Onsite / 50% Remote Duration: 7 months, ending 06/30/2026 Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (40 hours/week) Travel Required: Yes (field investigations, grand jury hearings, onsite meetings)

    Position Overview: SOAZ-Req # 8733 – AZDES (OIG) is seeking a Senior Investigator for the Rental Fraud Unit. This role combines field investigations with administrative responsibilities and requires the ability to drive to various locations, attend hearings, and conduct thorough investigations. Mileage expenses can be submitted as needed.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Review and research records, policies, investigative online resources, and public information sources to obtain evidence related to fraud allegations.

    Conduct field investigations, interview suspects and witnesses, serve subpoenas, perform surveillance, and gather evidence to prove or disprove fraud claims.

    Analyze, organize, and maintain investigation records, ensuring proper chain-of-evidence procedures. Produce high-quality reports presenting complex technical matters clearly.

    Testify at administrative hearings, Grand Jury hearings, and other criminal proceedings.

    Prepare prosecution reports and refer cases for prosecution to the Attorney General's office or county authorities.

    Attend unit, division, and one-on-one meetings, trainings, and assist other investigators as needed.

    Ability to conduct interviews and assessments in the field

    Testifying in Grand Jury hearings

    Speaking with attorneys

    Researching multiple databases

    Preferred Skills:

    Criminal investigation experience

    Accounting skills

    Strong writing skills

    Bilingual abilities

    Retired/previous law enforcement experience

    Education Requirements:

    High School Diploma

    Compliance & Background Checks:

    FPCC through DPS required

    Additional background check through CJIS/DES
