The Senior Investment Strategist is responsible for key elements of investment research, oversight and due diligence at East Bay Investment Solutions while also having client service responsibilities. This includes researching and testing investment strategies at the macro level, and ongoing evaluation at the portfolio and product level, the latter of which primarily consists of mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments. The Senior Investment Strategist will have direct client-facing responsibilities, relationship management, while also providing research and support for the firm’s investment initiatives. Responsibilities: The Senior Investment Strategist will identify potential client needs, deepen client relationships, and deliver excellent client service and investment solutions. Other requirements of the role include: • Oversee and perform ongoing due diligence processes on a variety of investment strategies and vehicle types. Products will include ETFs and mutual funds, and may also include separate accounts and alternative investments. Responsible for maintaining and improving the process over time. • Responsible for broad client communications, including Monthly benchmark return reports and summary, compilation and delivery of various quarterly collateral, and other broadcast client communications as directed. • Participate in various client meetings and be responsible for Writing and sharing notes from the meetings and completing meeting follow-ups as appropriate. • Responsible for ad hoc requests, including prospect reviews, researching non-model client holdings, and making 401k recommendations. • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the firm’s overall usage of Morningstar Direct. • Follow the investment management industry to be aware of industry trends and best practices; think about how these trends can impact East Bay and its clients. • Present research and ideas to other Senior Investment Strategists to assist in making investment recommendations to clients. • Participate in investment discussions both internally and with asset managers and thought leaders. • Engage with East Bay personnel and/or vendors to support the operational effectiveness of the company in areas such as workflow efficiency, compliance, reporting, etc. • Build a strong network of industry connections. • Engage in the sales, marketing, and prospecting process. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree required. (finance or economics preferred) • 7 years minimum investment-related experience with a strong knowledge of investment principles and concepts. • CFA Charterholder required. • Entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, and ability to pivot among many tasks are must-haves for a growing organization. • Ability to communicate and present investment management principles and concepts. • Ability to work remotely without constant supervision. • Support business development activities to assist in growing our firm. • Previous management experience is helpful but not required. • Excellent time management and strong organizational skills, along with the ability to anticipate potential problems and solve them. • Strong quantitative skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. • Morningstar Direct experience is a plus. • Ability to travel for various events including client events, conferences, and East Bay meetings. • Familiarity with Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) business preferred. • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a productive part of a team. • Excellent presentation skills. Compensation: $150,000 - $220,000
