Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Java Developer with 6–7 years of hands-on experience in enterprise application development and strong experience supporting Child Support Services or Human Services programs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java-based technologies, modern development frameworks, system integration, and Agile delivery environments.
This role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining mission-critical applications supporting Child Support Services programs and related public sector initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $85,000 annually before benefits

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications
Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
Support modernization and enhancement initiatives for Child Support Services systems
Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and system integrations
Participate in full SDLC activities including requirements analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and production support
Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Support database design, queries, and optimization efforts
Create technical documentation and assist with knowledge transfer activities
Required Qualifications
6–7 years of experience in Java development
Experience working on Child Support Services, Human Services, or Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES) projects
Strong experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST APIs
Experience with microservices architecture and web services
Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with state or government agencies
Knowledge of Child Support Enforcement systems and workflows
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
Experience with front-end technologies such as Angular or React is a plus
