New Gig Solutions is partnering with a highly regarded boutique civil defense firm that is looking for an experienced litigator to join its Los Angeles-area team. This role is for an attorney who’s ready to run their own insurance defense caseload, take the lead in depositions and court, and keep sharpening their trial skills alongside respected partners. Our client is a well-established litigation defense boutique with offices in California. Its attorneys represent businesses and insured clients in insurance defense, personal injury, construction defect, and employment matters. The firm is known for strong advocacy, a collaborative culture, and giving experienced associates real autonomy over their cases.
What You’ll Do
- Run a full docket of insurance defense and civil litigation matters from start to finish, with partner support when you need it
- Prepare pleadings, motions, written discovery, and case correspondence
- Research and analyze complex procedural and substantive issues
- Take and defend depositions and handle court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations
- Build case strategy and lead discovery in partnership with supervising attorneys
- Negotiate settlements and guide resolution strategy throughout the life of each case
- Be a go-to contact for clients, insurance carriers, experts, and opposing counsel
What You Bring
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California State Bar license in good standing
- 5 to 12 years of civil litigation experience, ideally with significant insurance defense work
- Hands-on experience with motion practice, discovery, depositions, and managing your own cases
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to independently juggle multiple active matters in a fast-paced practice
- Strong client service skills and a polished, professional presence
- Trial or trial preparation experience is a plus
- Must live within commuting distance of the firm’s Los Angeles-area office
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $150,000 to $225,000, depending on experience and qualifications
- Quarterly performance bonus opportunities
- Unlimited PTO after 90 days

Hybrid Schedule & Expectations
- Hybrid: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote
