SMS Processing Co., LLC | Remote SMS Processing Co., LLC is a fast-growing third-party mortgage processing company that partners with mortgage brokers and loan officers nationwide to streamline the loan process from application to closing. Our mission is simple: help loan officers grow their business while we handle the operational side of the mortgage process. We are looking for a highly organized and experienced Senior Loan Partner – LOA Department Manager to lead and build our Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) support department. This role will be responsible for reviewing borrower files for pre-approval, assisting loan officers with application review and file preparation, and overseeing additional LOAs/Loan Partners as the department grows. The person in this role will work closely with loan officers to ensure files are properly structured before they move into processing, while also leading and developing the LOA team. This is an excellent opportunity for a processor or experienced loan partner who is ready to step into a leadership role and help build a new department within a growing company. Compensation: $50,000 – $70,000 annually, depending on experience Additional performance incentives may be available based on production and department growth. Responsibilities: • Loan Officer Support • Assist loan officers with application reviews and file preparation • Review borrower loan applications for completeness and accuracy • Identify potential loan structuring concerns early in the process • Communicate with loan officers regarding documentation needs and loan strategy • Assist loan officers with file-related tasks so they can focus on originating new business • Pre-Approval Review • Review borrower documentation for pre-approval eligibility • Analyze income, assets, credit, and liabilities • Run AUS (DU/LP) when appropriate • Prepare pre-approval recommendations and documentation for the loan officer's approval • Ensure files meet program eligibility guidelines prior to issuing pre-approval letters • File Preparation Quality Control • Review loan files to ensure documentation is complete and organized prior to processing • Request missing documentation from borrowers as needed • Identify potential underwriting concerns early in the process • Ensure files are structured properly before submission to processing • This role requires the ability to independently review borrower documentation, analyze income and assets, and identify potential underwriting concerns prior to issuing pre-approval recommendations. • Department Leadership • Lead and oversee the Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) / Loan Partner department • Train and mentor additional LOAs and Loan Partners as the department grows • Develop front-end workflow processes and best practices • Ensure consistency and quality control across all pre-approval and front-end review tasks • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for loan officers utilizing LOA support services • Collaboration with Processing Team • Work closely with processors to ensure smooth handoffs from pre-approval to processing • Help ensure files are clean, structured correctly, and ready for processing • Support overall pipeline efficiency and loan cycle times • Who This Role Is Perfect For • This position is ideal for a high-performing processor or experienced loan partner who enjoys working on the front end of the mortgage process and wants to step into a leadership role. Qualifications: • 2+ years of mortgage industry experience in a role such as mortgage processor, loan partner, LOA, or mortgage operations support • Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines and loan structuring , including income analysis, asset sourcing, and credit review • Experience reviewing borrower applications and supporting pre-approval decisions • Ability to calculate borrower income and analyze financial documentation such as paystubs, W-2s, tax returns, and bank statements • Familiarity with Automated Underwriting Systems (DU/LP) and general loan eligibility requirements • Ability to identify potential underwriting concerns early and proactively address documentation gaps before files move to processing • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple files and priorities in a fast-paced environment • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with loan officers, borrowers, and internal team members • Experience working within a Loan Origination System (LOS) and document management systems • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy • Experience training, mentoring, or overseeing team members is preferred but not required • Comfortable working in a high-volume mortgage environment supporting multiple loan officers simultaneously • Willingness to obtain and maintain an active NMLS license if not already licensed • Previous experience as a loan partner or senior processor supporting producing loan officers • Experience reviewing files for pre-approval or loan structuring prior to processing • Experience helping loan officers prepare files prior to underwriting submission • Experience developing workflows, SOPs, or training processes • Familiarity with mortgage technology platforms such as LOS systems, document portals, and pipeline management tools Compensation: $50,000 - $75,000 yearly
