Senior Maintenance Engineer - Hotel
The Residence Inn Glen Mills is currently hiring a Senior Maintenance Engineer. The Senior Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical structure and equipment by performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to guest requests in areas like plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry. This role also involves ensuring safety standards are met, managing inventory, and potentially leading a team of technicians, while coordinating projects to minimize disruption to guests. This position will report to the General Manager and Area Chief Engineer. Responsibilities: • Repairs and maintenance: Perform various repairs on hotel equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and grounds, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair. • Preventive maintenance: Execute the hotel's preventive maintenance program on all equipment and systems to ensure optimal operation and prevent future issues. • Guest requests: Respond to and resolve guest maintenance requests promptly and courteously. • Safety and compliance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure the hotel meets all local, state, and federal health, safety, and building codes. • Equipment management: Troubleshoot and repair kitchen, laundry, and other major hotel equipment. • Project coordination: Assist with planning and overseeing renovation or construction projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests. • Team and contractor management: Potentially supervise junior maintenance staff and manage relationships with external contractors. • Record keeping: Maintain logs for all maintenance and repair activities, including preventative maintenance records. Qualifications: • Technical skills: Proficiency in various trades, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, is essential. • Tool proficiency: Ability to use a wide range of power and hand tools safely and efficiently. • Problem-solving: Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns and other issues. • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests, management, and other staff. • Physical ability: Must be able to lift and carry objects, stand for long periods, and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, and kneeling. • Flexibility: Ability to respond to emergencies and work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. • Experience: Relevant work experience is often preferred over formal education.
