    We are partnering confidentially with a highly respected and growing multi-billion-dollar global retail brand on a high-impact hybrid opportunity based in New York City.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly visible merchandising leadership team at the intersection of assortment strategy, retail analytics, customer experience, and cross-functional partnership.

    This role is ideal for a strategic, data-savvy merchandising leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume retail environments and enjoys balancing long-term assortment vision with hands-on execution.

    This position offers the opportunity to directly influence how customers experience the brand in-store through thoughtful assortment architecture, store clustering, and in-season optimization. Partnering closely with Buying, Allocation, Financial Planning, Space Optimization, and vendor teams, this role will help drive sales, margin, sell-through, and long-term customer loyalty.

    The right candidate will bring strong retail math, merchandising instincts, and the ability to connect customer preferences with business performance.

    What You’ll Own

    • Lead the end-to-end assortment planning process for Footwear or Apparel & Accessories
    • Build profitable, customer-centric assortments aligned to consumer preferences and business strategy
    • Develop pre-season assortment plans and in-season optimization strategies
    • Apply assortment analytics including rate of sale, door tiering, and clustering
    • Define SKU targets, lifecycle management, and assortment breadth/depth by store cluster
    • Partner with Space Optimization on capacity, flow, and capital project planning
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Buying, Allocation, Financial Planning, and GTM/VM
    • Build strong vendor partnerships and support line reviews and market travel
    • Drive margin productivity and sales optimization across the division

    What Makes You a Strong Fit

    • 7–9 years of relevant retail merchandising or assortment planning experience
    • Strong expertise in retail math, assortment productivity, and in-season analysis
    • Advanced Excel skills required; Power BI experience strongly preferred
    • Strong cross-functional partnership and stakeholder-management capabilities
    • Ability to lead through change and improve processes
    • Experience in high-volume, trend-driven retail strongly preferred
    • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in fast-paced environments
  • Compensation
    $80,000-$105,000 per year
