    Job Description:

    The Sr Technical Accounting Manager will serve as a key subject matter expert on complex accounting matters related to inventory, R&D, and cost accounting. This high-impact role will own the accounting policy and related governance to ensure the Company’s operational accounting practices are compliant with U.S. GAAP and aligned with the evolving business needs.     This role partners cross-functionally with teams across Accounting, FP&A, and Product Operations to help new initiatives, evaluate accounting implications, and improve the efficiency of our operational accounting processes. Responsibilities include technical accounting assessments, accounting and business policy implementations, internal controls oversight, and periodic reviews of key account balances. With growing complexity in global operations, this role offers high visibility and the opportunity to shape accounting practices while gaining deep knowledge of the business and our products.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Owner of accounting policies relating to inventory, COGS, and R&D, and own compliance with the evolving U.S. GAAP standards, including external reporting matters.
    • Review analyses related to inventory, COGS, and R&D to identify future risks or evolving business models requiring further evaluation.
    • Assess and document the accounting implications of non-routine or proposed transactions, including updates guided by new external reporting requirements.
    • Prepare and/or review journal entries and balance-sheet reconciliations for inventory and COGS during month-end close, ensuring accuracy and adherence to our policies.
    • Draft technical accounting memos to substantiate judgments on policy application and external disclosures.
    • Partner with Product Operations, Global Operations Accounting, FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Revenue Accounting, and SEC Reporting teams on project analyses to evaluate the accounting impacts of system or process changes.
    • Help with internal and external audits regarding inventory, COGS, and financial statement presentation.
    • Drive inventory and COGS accounting process improvements aimed at standardization, automation, and control enhancements.
    • Provide ongoing technical accounting consultation and raise awareness of new external reporting standards and implications to cross-functional colleagues.

    Qualifications:

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • 9+ years of public accounting experience with proven technical accounting skills, including experience working with inventory.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive consensus and conclusions.
    • Exceptional technical accounting (US GAAP) knowledge and expertise.
    • Proven statistical and problem-solving skills and high capacity for growth and the ability to adjust alongside the Company.
    • High level of integrity and commitment to excellence.

    Required Education and Training:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
    • CPA is required
