Senior Manufacturing Engineer
North Metro | Direct Hire | $100,000–$130,000 + Bonus
Konik is partnering with a well-established manufacturer in the northern Twin Cities metro area to hire a hands-on Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This company specializes in high-mix, low-volume fabricated products for niche industrial and life science markets. They’re seeking an experienced engineer to lead product design efforts, support fabrication workflows, and help drive continuous improvement across engineering and operations.
This role is ideal for a technically capable engineer with strong sheet metal experience who enjoys working across departments in a collaborative environment.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and update products using SolidWorks, creating models, flat patterns, and production-ready drawings for custom fabricated parts
- Program laser and punch machines using Boost or similar CAM software to generate efficient, shop-ready cutting instructions
- Create and maintain accurate BOMs, routings, and revision records within an ERP system to support seamless production and purchasing
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and sales teams to evaluate prototypes, support quoting efforts, and deliver smooth design-to-build handoffs
- Provide informal mentorship to a junior engineer while contributing to documentation standards and process improvement initiatives
Senior Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or product design, ideally within a sheet metal or custom fabrication environment
- Proficient in SolidWorks for part modeling, assemblies, and sheet metal design
- Hands-on experience with CAM programming for laser or punch equipment using Boost or comparable tools
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, JobBOSS, or equivalent for managing BOMs and production workflows
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across departments and support junior team members
