Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Newark, NJ, Full-Time | Onsite
Estimated Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000+ (calibrate based on experience)
Hours: 7:30am-4:30pm
The Business Need
The company continues to grow, and manufacturing systems, workflows, material flow, and production processes must continue evolving to support higher volumes while maintaining quality, efficiency, and reliability.
The business is seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineering leader who can identify operational constraints, improve production performance, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and drive measurable gains across the operation.
This role will play a key part in improving how the factory operates, scales, and performs while supporting future growth.
What You'll Own
Manufacturing Performance
• Own manufacturing process performance across production operations
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks limiting throughput, productivity, quality, and efficiency
• Drive measurable improvements in labor utilization, cycle times, operational performance, and manufacturing output
• Improve production systems to support future growth and scalability
Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence efforts
• Utilize data, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies to improve performance
• Build sustainable systems that improve productivity and reduce operational waste
Manufacturing Systems & Production Support
• Improve manufacturing workflows, production processes, and operating standards
• Support production teams through technical problem-solving and process improvements
• Improve production flow, material flow, equipment utilization, and manufacturing consistency
• Develop engineering solutions that improve reliability, quality, and operational performance
Facility & Production Optimization
• Optimize production layouts, manufacturing flow, and operational efficiency
• Improve space utilization and production capacity
• Support automation initiatives and manufacturing system improvements
• Lead projects that improve factory performance and long-term scalability
Project Leadership
• Lead manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation
• Develop business cases and ROI analyses for operational improvements
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations
• Ensure projects deliver measurable business results
Must-Haves
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• Proven manufacturing engineering experience within a production environment
• Experience improving throughput, productivity, quality, cost, or operational efficiency
• Experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and solving production challenges
• Experience utilizing manufacturing data to identify problems and drive improvements
• Experience leading projects from concept through implementation
• Strong cross-functional communication and execution skills
• Hands-on manufacturing floor experience
