Immediate Opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Aurora, IL)

Looking for a Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about design, vibration/dynamic/static and will provide outstanding collaboration, product creativity, and attention to detail as they design and develop high-quality products and systems while mentoring junior engineers and interfacing with clients.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and mentor 2 junior engineers, overseeing analysis, product development, manufacturing engineering direction, and application support for system design.
- Own rigid body and structural simulations to support the growth of company engineering expertise and support the activities of other sister product companies by conducting and reviewing static/dynamic FEA using ANSYS and similar tools, ensuring accuracy, quality, and insight.
- Drive Validation & Testing: Guide theoretical validation with hands-on testing, using results to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with sales, design, manufacturing, and quality control to align engineering with business goals.
- Support Customers: Act as the technical point of contact, helping customers solve challenges and improve designs.
- Improve Processes: Streamline workflows, introduce best practices, and elevate engineering standards.
- Travel Occasionally: Visit customer sites, attend trade shows, or support testing efforts.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering (Master’s a plus)
- 10+ years of engineering experience, with demonstrated team leadership experience
- Expertise in analysis tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, or SolidWorks Simulation
- Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver high-impact engineering solutions
- Experience with designing for shock and vibration is a plus
- Experience with designing for military and aerospace applications is a plus
