    Job Summary

    The Senior Network Engineer will provide expert technical leadership and hands-on support for the OSS Lab Network Infrastructure and Network Services Sustainment under the OSS Legacy Systems Sustainment contract. This critical role ensures the operational readiness, security, and transition readiness of lab network devices (e.g., routers, firewalls, switches, load balancers) and services (e.g., AAA, DNS, NTP), supporting DISA’s transition to a new management system. The engineer will collaborate with the Program Manager and coordinate with Government lab managers and support teams.

    Responsibilities

    Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain lab network infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, switches, and load balancers, ensuring full patching, security compliance, and accreditation.

    Support network services sustainment with hands-on lab maintenance and production troubleshooting through team coordination.

    Implement and test transitions to IPv6 and SNMPv3 environments for both lab network and services.

    Provide integration and testing support for customer devices connecting to the lab network, including cabling and racking as needed.

    Develop and update network diagrams, rack layouts, and implementation plans.

    Conduct pre-power-outage shutdowns and post-restoration startups for lab equipment, ensuring connectivity and performance.

    Support certification and accreditation by providing security and compliance data to the ISSM.

    Collaborate with Government leads and the Program Manager to address technical issues and meet performance standards.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

    Experience: Minimum of 8 years of network engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a DoD or federal environment managing lab and production networks. Experience with IPv6, SNMPv3, and security compliance is required.

    Certifications: CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent, and DoD 8140-compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP).

    Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance, with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) if required.

    Skills: Expert knowledge of network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers), network protocols, and troubleshooting; proficiency in documentation standards for network architecture; familiarity with DISA network tools and security policies.

    Availability: Able to work core hours (9:00 AM–3:00 PM EST) and full support hours (8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST, Monday–Friday), with on-site presence for lab tasks.

    Security Requirements

    Must possess a favorably adjudicated Tier 5 investigation (SSBI) and be enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.

    Compliance with DISA security regulations, including privileged access controls and periodic training.
