GovCon ERP experience required (Unanet, Costpoint, or similar)
Overview
A mid-size government contractor is seeking a Senior Pricing and Project Control Analyst to support project financial management, proposal pricing, and operational planning. This role blends project setup, financial tracking, and cost/pricing development for bids, requiring strong analytical capability and deep familiarity with government contracting standards.
Project Control Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain project structures in a GovCon ERP system (Unanet, Costpoint, or comparable), aligning project attributes with contract requirements and internal guidelines.
- Build project elements such as funding lines, rate configurations, billing setups, and labor categories to support accurate budgeting and charging.
- Oversee workforce and charge-code assignments to ensure employees and vendors have timely access to appropriate project codes.
- Manage key financial data tables (rates, workforce structures, funding updates) to maintain clean, auditable records.
- Validate revenue recognition results, monitor cost postings, and troubleshoot discrepancies tied to system setup or charging errors.
- Reconcile actuals across labor, materials, ODCs, and travel, ensuring alignment with projections and contractual expectations.
- Track weekly charging behavior, identify unusual variances, and provide corrective guidance where needed.
- Support leadership with targeted financial and operational analysis, including burn rate updates and performance snapshots.
- Contribute to monthly financial close activities, including variance explanations and project-level reporting deliverables.
Pricing Responsibilities
- Develop cost and price submissions for RFPs, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS and internal review processes.
- Coordinate closely with capture, contracts, operations, finance, and proposal teams to align pricing with the technical and management approach.
- Present pricing options, risks, and strategy recommendations to senior stakeholders, highlighting key financial drivers.
- Conduct market and competitor research to benchmark cost inputs, rate assumptions, and pricing trends.
- Perform profitability and margin analysis to support internal bid/no-bid and pricing strategy discussions.
- Create, refine, and maintain Excel-based pricing models to support what-if analysis and scenario comparisons.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience working in a GovCon ERP (Unanet, Costpoint, JAMIS, or similar).
- 3+ years of project control or project setup experience supporting government contracts.
- 3+ years of advanced Excel use (modeling, nested formulas, pivot tables).
- 5+ years supporting or working within the government contracting industry.
- 2+ years of pricing experience supporting proposals or cost volumes.
- Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of directly relevant experience.
