Senior Structural Engineer – Advanced Industries | Lakewood, CO
Our client, a leading civil and structural engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their Lakewood, Colorado office. This is a unique opportunity to work on nationally recognized projects in dynamic sectors such as aerospace, data centers, semiconductors, heavy industrial, and manufacturing.
This role offers the chance to manage high-value projects (ranging from $15K to $1M+ in design fees), engage directly with clients, and collaborate with top-tier professionals in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities:
Manage engineering and technician staff on project execution from concept through construction
Coordinate structural design scope internally and with multidisciplinary consultants
Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and budgets
Serve as the primary contact with clients and contractors throughout the design and construction lifecycle
Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans
Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to their career development
Represent the firm at client and project meetings
Foster and maintain strong client relationships
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
9+ years of progressive engineering experience (a master’s degree or passing the 16-hour SE exam counts as 1 year)
PE licensure in Colorado, or ability to obtain within 3 months
Demonstrated experience with advanced industries projects, including aerospace, pharma, semiconductor, data centers, or manufacturing facilities
Proficiency in Revit
Proven ability to work within project schedules and budgets
Familiarity with coordinating across MEP, architectural, and civil systems
Strong communication and coordination skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Leadership abilities with a vision for long-term growth
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Track record of completing multiple advanced industry projects from design through construction
Experience managing large-scale projects and multiple concurrent deadlines
Comfort engaging with clients on feasibility, design challenges, and schedule impacts
Ability to manage confidential or sensitive information
