    Senior Structural Engineer – Aviation Projects | Lakewood, CO

    Our client, a nationally recognized civil and structural engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Aviation team based in Lakewood, Colorado. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile aviation projects including international terminals, regional airports, aircraft hangars, flight training centers, and general aviation facilities.

    Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, strong technical design capabilities, and excellent coordination and communication skills. This position offers the chance to lead complex projects, manage large-scale design budgets, and contribute to the growth of a collaborative aviation team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and mentor engineering and technician staff to deliver successful project outcomes

    • Serve as the primary point of contact with clients and contractors throughout design and construction

    • Coordinate structural scope across internal disciplines and external consultants

    • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and budgets

    • Implement and oversee project-specific QA/QC plans

    • Attend and lead project meetings, ensuring client expectations and design goals are met

    • Play an active role in developing and maintaining client relationships

    • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team development

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program

    • Minimum 8 years of progressive structural engineering experience

    • Demonstrated leadership abilities and project management skills

    • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-discipline projects from design through construction

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience delivering aviation-related projects from concept to completion

    • Advanced communication skills for effective coordination with clients, architects, and contractors

    • Ability to lead internal teams and collaborate on multi-office, multi-discipline projects

    • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure

    • Experience developing and enforcing design standards and quality processes

    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive project details
