    Senior Project Engineer – High-End Retail Construction – Base Salary to 85k/year – Petaluma, CA

    • Our client provides premium construction services for Fortune 500 companies and boutique businesses across the United States.     • The primary function of the Senior Project Engineer is to (1) provide support to the Project Manager through proactive, efficient and timely coordination of various office and field activities for projects assigned, (2) facilitate strong cross-functional working relationship between Superintendents, Accounting team, and Project Engineers and, (3) represent, model and perpetuate a “will do” attitude and spirit that translates to a sense of personal responsibility and team spirit.

    Responsibilities:

    • Train and mentor current and newly hired Project Engineers.
    • Field all ‘how to questions’ from Project Engineers.
    • Coordinate and assist with facilitation of monthly Project Engineer team meetings.
    • Work with Co-President to create an elevated/expanded Project Engineer role.
    • Implement and manage training/development plan(s) to elevate Project Engineering team into new role.
    • Liaison with Project Manager (Co-President) and Accounting to ensure timely and accurate payment to Subcontractors and billing to clients.
    • Maintain familiarity with scope and schedule of projects to best support Project Manager(s) with RFI and Submittal functions.
    • Ensure electronic project files are appropriately updated weekly.
    • Coordinate with Project Manager and Superintendent in ordering and scheduling material deliveries.
    • Maintain all project logs and run reports as requested.
    • Assist Project Manager/Estimating with bid solicitations, scheduling and consolidation of estimating data as requested.
    • Create projects in Viewpoint and Procore (as needed).
    • Prepare, send and collect signed subcontracts and purchase orders.
    • Issue subcontract change orders and owner change orders with proper documentation and ensure client approved changes orders are approved for billing/reporting.
    • Ensure subcontract terms are adhered to with regard to insurance policy collection, etc.
    • Prepare and ensure shop drawing, submittal logs and RFIs are filed with appropriate contracts, responses and distribution.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of related work experience in the construction industry.
    • Construction Management degree preferred.
    • Advanced/Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office with innate curiosity and aptitude for learning new software and automating processes.
    • Experience with Egnyte, DocuSign, and Viewpoint Construction Software preferred, but not required.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively, take initiative, see projects through to completion.
    • Detail oriented, strong problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize workload, deadline driven.

    Compensation:

    • Base salary up to 85k/year.
    • Bonus up to 20% of project profitability.
