Senior Project Manager - Multifamily Architecture
San Francisco, CA | Full-Time | Hybrid
Salary range: $148-$165K
Our client is an established architecture firm with a strong residential and mixed-use portfolio. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager who can lead complex multifamily projects, guide internal teams, manage client and consultant relationships, and help deliver well-coordinated, technically sound work from design through construction.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands both the client-facing and technical sides of architectural project delivery. The right person will be comfortable managing multiple active projects, leading project teams, coordinating consultants, and keeping schedules, deliverables, and communication on track.
What You’ll Do
- Lead multifamily and mixed-use residential projects through design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and agency partners.
- Manage project scope, schedule, staffing, communication, and deliverables.
- Guide internal project teams and help less experienced staff develop stronger technical and project-management skills.
- Coordinate consultant input and resolve design, documentation, and construction-phase issues.
- Review project documents for quality, coordination, code awareness, and technical completeness.
- Support clear, timely communication across clients, consultants, and internal team members.
- Help maintain strong client relationships through organized, responsive, and accountable project leadership.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of architectural experience, with significant experience in multifamily housing.
- Experience leading projects from early design through construction administration.
- Strong understanding of architectural documentation, detailing, consultant coordination, and project delivery.
- Revit proficiency required; AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, and 3D modeling experience helpful.
- Professional degree in Architecture preferred.
- Architectural license preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Ideal Fit
This role is best suited for a confident, steady project leader who can keep work moving without creating chaos. Someone who is client-service oriented, technically grounded, collaborative with internal teams, and comfortable taking ownership of complex architectural projects.
