This Senior/Senior Staff Accountant will play a direct role in strengthening the financial foundation of a sizable, privately held distribution business.

This is a growth position that offers an experienced accountant the opportunity to step into meaningful work with visibility across a lean accounting organization—without taking on direct reports. The right professional will be comfortable getting close to the details while understanding why accurate reconciliations, defensible supporting documentation, and disciplined accounting processes matter to the larger business.

Our client is a privately held food and beverage distribution company. The accounting organization is lean, with a Controller, Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, and outsourced clerical support.

    In this role, you will…

    • Partner with the outside CPA through the financial statement review and audit process, helping ensure records and supporting documentation are complete and audit-ready.
    • Own key balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, other receivables, and related accounts requiring accurate support.
    • Build and maintain a clean, well-supported balance sheet that can withstand audit scrutiny.
    • Maintain the company’s fixed asset database and strengthen the accuracy and organization of fixed asset records.
    • Coordinate the tagging and tracking of company equipment, vehicles, and other fixed assets.
    • Investigate accounting discrepancies and strengthen the underlying documentation supporting financial statement accounts.
    • Contribute hands-on accounting expertise within a lean finance organization as the company continues to grow.

    What we’re looking for

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
    • Strong hands-on accounting experience appropriate for a Senior Staff Accountant / Senior Accountant level position.
    • Demonstrated experience completing and supporting balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Experience preparing accounting records, schedules, and supporting documentation for financial statement review or audit.
    • Working knowledge of accrual accounting and the ability to maintain accurate, defensible account support.
    • Ability and willingness to work onsite during standard business hours.
  • Compensation
    $90,000-$110,000 per year
