Job Description

Senior Services of Southwest Michigan is seeking to fill a part-time regular (approx. 32.5 hours/week) food service worker/dishwasher position to work in our kitchen at the Senior Services, Inc. in Battle Creek, MI.  The food service worker will package, distribute and serve safe, appealing meals for senior nutrition program and catered clients. Will assist lead cook in monitoring food quality and food handling practices. Assists with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the food service environment; and, assists with food production, set-up, service, and clean-up of catered events. 

Qualifications

This position requires: Ability to lift and push loads up to 60 pounds, stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and reach; Ability to perform simple math functions, including counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing; Ability to read at a 6th grade level; Teamwork and service attitudes; Ability to adapt to changing work environment, as needed; Ability to pass food management certification class and receive certification. The food service worker may perform a variety of food service tasks in the areas of meal assembly and service,dish washing, sanitation and safety.
