    Legion Technical Solutions (LTS) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support a premier aerospace and defense customer developing next-generation satellite ground systems. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical technologies that enable secure space operations, advanced mission planning, and national security initiatives.

    What You'll Do

    Design, architect, and develop software supporting advanced satellite ground systems.

    Enhance and modernize existing software and system architectures to meet evolving mission requirements.

    Develop high-performance, object-oriented software applications using Java.

    Contribute throughout the complete software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

    Develop cloud-native microservices supporting distributed mission applications.

    Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile development environment.

    Support DevSecOps initiatives, CI/CD pipelines, and software modernization efforts.

    Provide technical expertise on future development initiatives and engineering proposals.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another STEM discipline.

    10+ years of professional software engineering experience.

    Strong object-oriented software development experience using Java.

    Experience developing multi-threaded Java applications.

    Experience designing or developing microservices.

    Experience working in cloud-based software environments.

    Experience developing planning, scheduling, mission management, or similar complex software systems.

    Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance or active Top Secret clearance eligible for SCI crossover.

    U.S. Citizenship required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with any of the following is highly desired:

    Satellite ground systems

    Mission planning or scheduling software

    AWS cloud environments

    Docker and Kubernetes

    Spring Boot

    Python and/or C++

    Kafka

    DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines

    Jenkins

    JUnit

    Jira and Confluence

    SAFe Agile methodologies
