Summary/Objective
Under direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Staff Accountant supports accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and company standards. This role performs key general ledger functions, assists with audits, and drives process improvements. Ideal for a detail-oriented professional with 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge of accounting principles and ERP systems.
Essential Job Functions
Lead and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes: prepare journal entries, intercompany, accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and recurring entries.
Maintain the general ledger: perform reconciliations (balance sheet, bank accounts, sub-ledgers).
Support full financial reporting cycle, including internal management reports and variance analysis.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
Prepare schedules and assist with external/internal audits.
Drive process improvements: enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation in accounting workflows.
Support forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Treasury, and Operations.
Mentor junior staff and share best practices across the team.
Assist CFO with bank covenant compliance and John Deere covenant compliance.
Oversee John Deere settlement and reconciliation process.
Execute journal entries and perform account reconciliations for payroll and benefits expenses in coordination with the Human Resources Department

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (Masters preferred)
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting, corporate, or within a manufacturing/industrial environment).
Strong US GAAP knowledge; familiarity with IFRS a plus.
CPA Preferred
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Financial reporting and analysis
High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
