Description: Cooper Tacia General Contracting is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Superintendent – Civil Construction to lead on-site construction operations for complex civil and infrastructure projects within our growing Civil & Marine Construction Division. This critical leadership role is responsible for directing field execution of large-scale civil work, ensuring projects are built safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with contract documents, schedules, and quality standards.
The Senior Superintendent will oversee civil projects that may include site development, mass grading, utilities, stormwater systems, roadway improvements, and supporting infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on field leader with deep civil construction experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple trades, subcontractors, and inspectors to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. Familiarity with marine construction is a plus.
Responsibilities:
· Direct and manage daily on-site construction operations for civil construction projects, from site mobilization through substantial completion.
· Ensure all construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, schedules, safety requirements, and quality standards.
· Enforce strict safety policies on-site, including conducting daily safety meetings, regular inspections, and training sessions, while fostering a strong culture of safety and accountability.
· Coordinate and manage the efficient use of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain productivity and meet project milestones.
· Lead, supervise, and motivate subcontractors, foremen, equipment operators, and craft labor to ensure seamless workflow and high-quality execution.
· Collaborate closely with Project Managers to develop project and look- ahead schedules, align field operations with project budgets, and help identify issues to be communicated up the chain of command to the client and division manager.
· Lead daily Plan of the Day morning meetings/calls with all crew, subcontractors, and project staff to ensure robust communication at all levels of the project and ensure alignment and coordination between all active scopes of work.
· Monitor site conditions, utilities, weather impacts, and logistical challenges, proactively identifying issues and implementing solutions to minimize delays.
· Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and as-built information.
· Coordinate inspections with municipalities, utility providers, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role overseeing site development, utilities, roadway, or infrastructure projects.
· OSHA 30-hour certification required; additional certifications related to civil construction, heavy equipment, or construction management are a plus.
· Strong understanding of civil construction methods and sequencing, including earthwork, underground utilities, stormwater systems, concrete, and paving operations.
· Familiarity with construction management and field software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or similar platforms.
· Proven ability to lead field teams, manage multiple subcontractors, and deliver complex civil projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
· Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with project management teams, inspectors, and stakeholders.
Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $135,000-$150,000 per Year Benefits:
