Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our Tax Advisory Services team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax planning, preparation, and advisory services to our individual and business clients. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Preparation
Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
Ensure accurate and timely filings in compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Conduct technical tax research and document conclusions clearly and concisely.
Tax Planning & Advisory
Collaborate with clients to develop strategic tax-saving plans.
Provide proactive tax planning strategies tailored to small business owners and high-net-worth individuals.
Assist in implementing advanced tax strategies under the guidance of the Tax Manager and in coordination with legal advisors.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
Clearly communicate tax strategies, deadlines, and compliance requirements to clients.
Build trust-based relationships that support long-term client retention.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Mentor and support junior tax staff and administrative personnel.
Review work prepared by junior staff for accuracy and completeness.
Contribute to team training and development initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required).
CPA license or EA credential (strongly preferred; CPA candidates will be considered).
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of public accounting experience focused on tax compliance and advisory.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Experience with small businesses, self-employed individuals, and complex tax structures preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in tax software (preferably UltraTax or similar).
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Soft Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
