In this role you get to be creative and identify strategies to lower the client's tax obligation. This role is fully remote with the possibility of some travel to client sites and to our own in-person events. Responsibilities: Senior Tax Associate Responsibilities: • Client Tax Management: Overseeing clients' tax compliance, ensuring due dates are met, and ensuring tax-related matters are handled effectively. • Collaboration with Bookkeeping Team: Working with bookkeeping staff to ensure that client financial reports are accurate. • Client Communication: Regularly meeting with clients to provide tax advice, feedback on their goals, and strategies for growth. • Public Engagement: Conducting virtual sessions during the sales cycle to provide information about the company’s services. • Client Relationship Management: Proactively managing relationships, identifying and resolving potential issues before they escalate. • Direct Reporting: Reports directly to the CEO Fractional CFO Responsibilities: • Drive Growth and Profitability: Working with each client's leadership team to develop and oversee their overall growth and profit plan, including identifying key projects and budgets • Provide Insight and Analysis: Work with our business and data analyst to develop valuable dashboards and reports in our FP&A toolset and present to clients with clear explanations and identify decision drivers • Establish KPIs and Bonus Structures: The key to driving higher profitability is getting staff to operate in the top 80% of their potential. We do this by giving every client's staff clear and measurable ways to identify high achievement. We create financial incentives around successfully hitting target KPIs • Leadership Team Accountability: Meet monthly with every member of the leadership team and review performance in relation to pre-identified goals. Assist leadership with overcoming challenges and keeping on track with identified goals • Tax Strategy Planning: Quarterly client meetings to discuss annual profit targets, preview tax liabilities and discuss possible tax reduction strategies. Provide estimated tax payment instructions, perform all filings required for compliance and implement agreed upon strategies • Get Results: Perhaps the most fun and the most important, you will be directly responsible for the results that clients achieve! Qualifications: • Great communication skills • Ability to think on your feet, come up with ideas Extensive business management experience • 5+ years in Federal Taxation and State and Local Tax (SALT) OR a minimum of 100 business returns and 500 personal returns prepared and filed • Must be able to research and implement new tax strategies • Experience responding to IRS and State Tax notices • Organized, this role requires someone who does not wait until deadlines to get things done • Power user of QBO and Excel/Sheets • Knowledge of Zoh, suite of products, Drake tax and Jiray a big plus • Prior experience as a fractional CFO also a plus Compensation: $105,000 - $175,000 yearly
