Position Summary
The Senior Technology Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive technical training programs and documentation for commercially available and proprietary software applications. This role requires expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, technical documentation, and hands-on instructor-led training delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and experienced in managing multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Technology Trainer supporting proprietary and advanced off-the-shelf software applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Copilot, OneNote, SharePoint)
At least three (3) years of experience developing technical documentation and training materials
Key Responsibilities
Plan, design, and deliver instructor-led training sessions for commercially available and proprietary software applications
Develop comprehensive training materials including manuals, guides, videos, and e-learning modules
Create instructional design content tailored to varying user proficiency levels
Develop technical documentation such as quick reference guides, job aids, and web-based instructional content
Produce recorded and interactive video training to support technical processes
Apply adult learning principles to effectively train individuals and large groups
Communicate regularly with the Contract Manager regarding project plans, progress updates, and deliverables
Manage multiple training projects from initiation through completion while ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes
Coordinate stakeholders, schedules, and resources to support concurrent training initiatives
Required Skills & Competencies
Experience delivering in-person instructor-led training programs
Ability to effectively train diverse audiences using adult learning methodologies
Experience using training development tools such as Camtasia, Articulate 360, Vyond, or similar platforms
Strong ability to develop user-friendly technical documentation for software applications
Experience producing quick reference materials and instructional content for web platforms
Instructor-led technical training delivery (in-person and virtual)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
