Senior Traffic Project Manager

Our client, an established engineering consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Traffic Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact transportation and traffic engineering projects.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in projects that improve safety, mobility, and connectivity within the communities they serve. The right person will bring strong technical expertise, proven project leadership, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, public agencies, and project stakeholders.
You’ll guide projects from early planning and traffic analysis through design and completion, influence critical technical decisions, lead multidisciplinary teams, and help identify new opportunities for growth.
You’ll also mentor developing engineers and help strengthen the firm’s traffic engineering practice. The company is looking for a collaborative, forward-thinking leader who is excited to make a meaningful impact on its projects, clients, and team.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities
- Manage assigned transportation and engineering projects from initiation through completion.
- Define project priorities, timelines, resources, and expected outcomes.
- Coordinate project activities among internal teams, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Provide direction and support to technical staff throughout project execution.
- Review project work products to ensure they meet applicable requirements and quality standards.
- Communicate regularly with clients and project stakeholders regarding progress, priorities, and project needs.
- Track project schedules, budgets, resources, and overall performance.
- Assist with proposals, presentations, client meetings, and other business development activities.
- Support efforts to maintain and develop long-term client relationships.
- Identify potential project opportunities and contribute to the growth of the practice.
- Address project issues and coordinate appropriate solutions as they arise.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Senior Project Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering or transportation experience.
- At least 2 years of project management experience.
- Experience with transportation, traffic, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering and analysis software.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with clients, proposals, or business development preferred.
- Professional traffic certification is a plus.

Compensation: $135,000 - $180,000 per year
