    Job Description

    The Controller/Sr. Controller role will be Sense’s first full time internal hire on the Accounting team and will be critical as the business scales. This role will be essential in ensuring the appropriate infrastructure is in place to scale, ensuring financial accuracy in accordance with US GAAP, building documentation and analysis associated with our regular business rhythm, but also in building out our financial infrastructure and systems. 

    This person will hire and manage AP/AR/Accounting teams, manage external accounting teams and build out these functions internally as we scale. They will be responsible for monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, financial reporting and ad hoc analyses for internal and external stakeholders. In addition this individual will help identify ways to streamline and scale accounting and finance processes and set up robust systems for future audit requirements. 

    As the Controller or Sr. Controller, you will be responsible for: 

    • Owning Monthly Close process including revenue recognition, cost of sales accounting, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.

    • Assisting in quarterly Board of Directors reporting packages

    • Review and documentation of all accounting practices and recommendations for changes and improvements

    • Preparation for future Audit requirements

    • Building out scalable accounting and reporting processes including systems implementation if required

    • Managing the AP and payroll function

    • Ad hoc analyses and reconciliations

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 7-10 years of experience of relevant work experience with a mix of Public Accounting and Company experience

    • CPA required

    • Experience working in ERP systems (Quickbooks / Netsuite)

    • Strong work ethic, hands-on and not afraid to dive into the details

    • You bring a “systems” mindset to your job. You enjoy building scalable processes from scratch and implementing new tools that are designed for growth and robust at scale

    • Self-starter that can drive large projects from beginning to end
