JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst (Supply Chain/ Logistics Analyst) will be a significant contributor to the overall improvement of Supply Chain and Logistics efficiency and effectiveness for Sensient; utilizing data analytical skills to drive strategy and operational performance in the various areas of supply chain and logistics operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing standardized reporting and metrics to measure global logistics KPI's
• Analyze, audit and approve all freight bills through Hatfield Associates portal
• Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects (e.g. warehouse-slotting, route planning, carrier performance)
• Design, Build, and deploy BI solutions utilizing SQL, PowerBi, and other key tools.
• Partner with Supply Chain leadership to drive carrier performance through active monitoring, reporting & scorecard development
• Performing data quality analysis and managing follow-up resolution with service providers to ensure reporting accuracy
• Researching root cause and driving corrective action to improve Supply Chain and Logistics performance and achieve business objectives
• Using data to identify and highlight issues and opportunities to optimize Supply Chain and Logistics processes and costs.
• Evaluate vendor operations (e.g. freight forwarders) according to quality standards
• Develop lane shipment analysis plan.
• Understand the impact logistics planning has on end to end shipment execution (including how logistics planning impacts material releases).
• Performs freight cost, service, and carrier management studies
• Identifies savings and profitability improvement opportunities by analyzing client shipping patterns and carrier rate trends
• Assumes responsibility for data collection, data cleansing and scope documentation for the more complex network studies and projects.
• Interacts with IT on Supply Chain and Logistics issues due to ERP System or RF devices.

EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIOR COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Information Management, or Business
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a data analyst or business data analyst, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics.
• Strong skills in SQL, Python, Access, and Excel
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Technical expertise regarding data mining
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages such as PowerBI
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, Access, Tableau etc)
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Ability to work independently and with fellow associates
