Job Description
About the Opportunity SeqMatic is seeking a bioinformatics research associate to join our sequencing service team. The position requires a strong background in bioinformatics or a related science, particularly analyzing NGS data. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Data QC of NGS sequencing data * RNA-Seq analysis * scRNA-Seq analysis * Custom bioinformatic analysis * Generating data QC and analysis reports * Organize and maintain experimental records and lab procedures; * Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members; Qualification Requirements: * B.S. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics or a related science; * Experience with a scripting language (Python, R, Perl, Bash, Java, Javascript) is required * In depth experience working in a Unix/Linux Environment is required * Experience working with next-generation sequencing preferred, particularly Illumina or 10X Genomics libraries * Knowledge of bioinformatic software tools for processing next-generation sequencing data or similar (e.g. bowtie, STAR, samtools, cellranger or related software) * Experience working with large-scale biological datasets and with high-performance computing (e.g. AWS) a plus * Proficient using MS Office Software * Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; * Ability to work independently and with a team; * Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills; Company Description SeqMatic is a San Francisco Bay Area based Illumina and 10X Genomics certified service provider of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) services.
