    Job Description

    The Program Associate provides high-level, comprehensive strategic and administrative support to the President while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. This role is responsible for managing calendars, helping with prioritization of tasks, serving as the gatekeeper for requests, staying abreast of the latest climate trends and updates, and ensuring that the principal is adequately prepared for all meetings. This role exists to increase the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the President to better serve Sequoia Climate Fund and external partners.

     

    • Communicates with key partners, the Board and outside organizations.
    • Drafts routine correspondence and properly maintains records.
    • Provides comprehensive administrative support to the President including outstanding communication and responsiveness.
    • Drafts routine correspondence and properly maintains records.
    • Keep the President apprised of most critical internal deadlines as well as external areas of interest that impact Sequoia Climate Fund’s programs.
    • Ensures all staff requests to the President are addressed properly, efficiently, and judiciously, tracking progress until resolved.
    • Drafts executive-level correspondence and reports on behalf of the President.
    • Assists with communication, including writing proposals, business development outreach, communication strategy and implementation.
    • Coordinates event planning and implements all logistical elements as needed.
    • Arranges travel bookings, webinar sign ups and trainings as needed for the President.
    • Prepares and distributes meeting agendas to key stakeholders and follows up in a timely manner to ensure attendees receive meeting minutes.
    •  Streamlines and improves current processes to increase the efficiency of the President.
    • Collaborates with associates and other staff to support the goals of the organization.
    • Demonstrated initiative and foresight in planning.
    • Exceptional organizational skills.
    • Some travel (1-2 times per quarter) may be required.
    • Performs other duties as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree, graduate degree preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience in an operational role supporting executives. Quantitative experience is highly preferred.
    • Administrative support and program/project management experience

To ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, we will continue to monitor the situation and follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as local advisories from the California Department of Public Health and the Orange County Health Care Agency. ONCE CIRCUMSTANCES ALLOW, STAFF WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK FULL-TIME FROM OUR OFFICE IN IRVINE, CALIFORNIA. We are flexible and willing to discuss the logistics and financial considerations raised by relocation, if needed.
