    Job Description

    Serpa Packaging Solutions is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join our Mechanical Engineering team. As the Mechanical Drafter, you will join the Mechanical Engineering department in supporting Mechanical Design Engineers by maintaining technical part drawings, assembly drawings, creating floor plan drawings, and updating/maintaining bills of material listings.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Draft and maintain technical part and assembly drawings. Floor plan drawings occasionally.
    • Perform basic mathematical calculations and use AutoCAD to prepare mechanical engineering drawings.
    • Under guidance, review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, design practices, and standard applications.
    • Resolve drafting problems and prepare variations of drafts when needed.
    • Effectively prioritize and manage drafting requests.
    • Update department spreadsheets, which include floor plan listings and updating/maintaining bills of material listings.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years experience in Computer-aided Drafting/Design (CAD). 
    • AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required.
    • Mechanical aptitude and self-motivated.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs desired (Excel, Word, & Outlook).
    • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
    • Ability to work well independently and with others in a team-oriented environment.
    • Effective written and oral communication skills.
