    Job Summary

    Ensuring that meals are presented and served in accordance with applicable regulations with positive customer satisfaction.

    Accountabilities

    • General
      • Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative.
      • Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required.
      • Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
      • Communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
      • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures.
      • Solve basic mathematic procedures.
      • Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional integrity.
      • Know and honor Resident Rights.
      • Communicate with residents in a respectful manner.
      • Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
      • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
      • Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers.
    • Resident Care * Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions. * Serve meals that are both appetizing in taste and appearance, and appropriate for each resident.
    • Other Duties/Responsibilities * Work with the Dining Services Director and Lead Server to develop positive resident relationships by modeling professional customer service, problem solve proactively. * Working with the culinary team to provide the best customer dining experience. * Take orders from residents for our daily special and/or our table menus. * Bus the tables accordingly before, during, and after the meal is served. * General vacuuming, washing, stocking, and moving products for service and/or cleaning. * Prepare the café for service following the established checklist. * Knowledge and understanding of both the food and drink menu’s for the specials and/or daily service. * Assists in preparation of special meals and for special events. * To contribute to and attend all training sessions and/or team meetings as required. * To ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout each shift. * To follow the company’s rule and procedures, informing the director of any misconduct. * To be aware if your responsibilities with respect to health and safety codes. Reporting any accident or health risk to the dining director immediately. * Communicate with the dining director regarding any problems with equipment, stocked products, residents, or team members.
    • Physical Demands/Working Conditions * Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours. * Able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs. * Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
    • Qualifications and Educational Requirements * Minimum of one year experience in a senior care or healthcare setting preferred. * High school diploma and/or GED preferred. * Must be at least 16 years old. * Ability to read, speak, and write in English. * Ability to work flexible hours. * Ability to handle emergency situations. * Ability to come to mandatory trainings/meetings.
